Paris Hilton Manga
Whether you’ve heard of this terrible, terrible phenomenon or not, one thing remains, manga based on the slut of the world is not only scary… it’s really scary. But hey, I have time on my hands, and let’s face it; you don’t have anything better to do either. Let’s take a guilty look at his hideous abomination and affront to the world of manga!
Ok, Ok. First things first, it’s not traditional manga as we know it, meaning it’s not actually a full book (thank god); it’s a comic insert section of the girl’s fashion magazine “Glamorous”. Such sections are not uncommon in many magazines for the young adult age group, although there are exceptions, notably Japanese Play Boy, which has Kid Muscle inserts along with other random treats.
Equipped with skank-wear not unlike her real life counter part, manga Paris attempts to inform you a little bit about her life. She talks to you about her family, what it’s like to be famous, and even about her friends. Oh, and yes, a rather disturbing, yet strangely humorous explanation of the aspiring actress’s raunchy sex tapes “a night in Paris”. It’s times like these that you curse the language barrier; for you know so very few Japanese people will be able to appreciate the pun. All the same, its quite fun to see her try to justify herself, especially in manga form. Don’t worry Paris, we believe you.
This might be a strange thing to think about, but considering the Japanese love of celebrities, and fascination with Hollywood, its little surprise to see such a thing exist. There is after all a cute girl for your single, lonely Japanese train enthusiast and a fashion icon for the girls. The trend seems perfectly normal considering that Hollywood celebrities are somewhat of the gold standard around the world. However nervous thoughts enter one’s mind when remembering what the possible precedence set by the ‘t.A.T.u’ anime series could do for the world. Hopefully such a thing never happens again.
The ‘manga’ has been traveling the net quite rapidly in the last few weeks and more and more people are becoming witness to its horrors, will this terrible idea stop here or are we doomed to see an intelligent manga take on Jessica Simpson? The future is unwritten my friends, but we can only pray that such a thing never happens again.
Truly, the Simple Life.
