Just when it looked like Berryz Koubou was losing steam, the group releases “Koi no Jubaku”, which is one of their best selling singles till this day. Although “Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai” made a fairly big impact in the H!P world, the next slew of singles that they released just didn’t sell as well. However, “Koi no Jubaku” proved that these girls weren’t going to get buried anytime soon.

The first track, “Koi no Jubaku” starts out with an interesting synthesizer sound, and gets you hooked to the song immediately. After a few seconds, it then hits these strong beats and leads to the first verse. The song is solid, and doesn’t have any negative points whatsoever. The chorus is definitely the strong point of the song, and will have you listening to the song over and over. Hats off to Tsunku for doing such a great job of harmonizing these girls’ voices together. They really do seem more polished in this single compared to some of their previous ones.

The next track, “Passion E-CHA E-CHA” has the usual formula of a fun, upbeat Berryz single. Similar to Morning Musume’s “Lemon Iro to Milk Tea” and “Ii Koto Aru Kinen no Shunkan”. While I didn’t like this coupling song as much as some of their other ones, it’s still a good song in itself and is worth a listen.

You can tell that they put a lot of time into this song and the music video. The music video is a visual masterpiece, with beautiful camera shots and angles throughout. It has a very serious tone to it, and all of the members look like they want to kick your head off. They look so angry, even I’m intimidated when I watch the music video! This remains as my favorite Berryz single, so you just know that I’m going to tell you to buy it. What are you waiting for? Do It! Now!
